A new celebration of the Vitoria-Gasteiz SINKRO Festival is coming to Artium with a special show devoted to the latest electroacoustic music pieces and their interaction with other artistic disciplines. The project shows different ways of applying technology to music, experimentation and sound and visual element contrasts. An intense acoustic journey that will give the audience new perspectives on perception. “Sirius”, a tribute to Karlheinz Stockhausen (1928-2007).

“Words can often distort things and are dangerous. They don’t illustrate the way photography does; they don’t sink in the way a scalpel does. I’ve always believed that to discover a bird, you need to kill it first. To practice anatomy, the object must be dead; it has to have stopped moving.”

“Music must only obey its innate need to feel free of all political and social ties; free of the duty to entertain and to serve a certain audience, a music that has to represent the maximum degree of anything the composer can imagine from the point of view of perfection and mystery.”

“That’s how I make music, inventing new shapes that can live in the right tonal environment, in tissue, in an organic structure; open to all development, willing to transform themselves and grow the way animals and plants do.”
